La Jota Howell Mountain Merlot 2019 Review
California wine pioneer Jess Jackson and his wife Barbara Banke purchased this property in 2005, carrying on the original proprietor, Frederick Hess’ dream of small production wines made from remote mountain fruit. This Merlot has a nice, rich nose of dark berry fruit with a wisp of pepper and a hint of oak. There is a good tannic grip on the palate and balanced acidity. Mountain Merlot at its best.
